hand-painted with Angelus leather paints
2021
5” long x 1” wide x 3” tall
8/9 oz. and 2/3 oz. vegetable tan leather, glove snap, belt clip
mitered construction, glued and stitched
After a few hand-cut iterations, I transferred the design to a vector-drawing program. I cut the pieces on a laser cutter, including the stitching holes. I cut the stitching grooves, and beveled and burnished the top edges. I inserted the belt clip through the 2/3 oz leather back piece, then glued it flesh-to-flesh with the 8/9 oz back piece. I hand-cut the 45-degree bevels on the edges, then glued and stitched around a wood form. I used Angelus black leather dye and finished with Fiebing’s wax.
