Carly Lowe

is a woodworker by training, and working hard to acquire proficiency in just about every other craft, from leatherwork to upholstery to welding. She studied traditional woodcraft at North Bennet Street School in Boston, where she learned to design and draft by hand, keep her tools sharp, and construct furniture that will last a lifetime. Theater is perhaps her longest-running passion; she has been building sets and hanging lights since high school. After a post-baccalaureate fellowship as Assistant Technical Director at Grinnell College Theater Department, she spent a summer as Master Carpenter with the Ohio Light Opera, and is currently the Scenic Director for New City School’s Young Actors Drama Club. When she’s not building sets or furniture, she is most excited about working on Hat on a Hat, the startup she co-founded with her sister and creative partner, Abby.
